The Thousand Kingdoms
History states that Harrin’s Folly was once rich farmland, not the desert it is today. The change reportedly happened suddenly in the last millennia of the Eternal Empire. No one is sure of the source of the name. Some claim that the desert was made when a mage named Harrin’s experiments went awry. Others tell the story of the merchant Harrin, who spent his entire fortune and the last years of his life unsuccessfully trying to open a caravan route through it.
As deserts go, it has a good deal of life. There are several nomadic clans that travel its dunes, moving from one Oasis to another.
